This year, Clean Game experts have participated in several projects and published three papers related to doping. In essence, we continued our work in ethics and laboratory research.

The first published paper focuses on safeguarding athletes—an area that, unfortunately, remains largely overlooked. When athletes encounter a problem, they are often left to manage it on their own. This brings us back to an issue highlighted by many authors: elite athletes are expected to act simultaneously as physicians, pharmacists, lawyers, coaches, and managers, which is clearly impossible.

The other two papers were published in collaboration with the Anti-Doping Laboratory in Seibersdorf (Vienna, Austria) and focus on the evaluation of endogenous steroid sulfates and glucuronides in urine after oral and transdermal administration of testosterone in male and female participants.

Next year, a paper on the Sinner doping case is being prepared, as well as the relevance of benzodiazepines in freediving—research supported by WADA.

In addition, two Erasmus projects are active.
